Richardson Qualifies for Saturday's Semi with Impressive 10.94 Run

BUDAPEST, Hungary - American track star ShaCarri Richardson made an impressive debut at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Friday, clocking a time of 10.94 seconds to qualify for Saturday's 100-meter semifinals.

Richardson, 23, outsprinted a strong field of competitors in her heat, earning a spot in the next round. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at 7:50 p.m. local time, with the final set for 9:20 p.m.

Richardson's performance marks a significant moment in her career. She was disqualified from the 100m event at the Tokyo Olympics last year after testing positive for marijuana, a decision that sparked controversy and disappointment.

The World Athletics Championships provide Richardson with an opportunity to showcase her talent once again and demonstrate her resilience after the challenges she has faced. She will be among the favorites to reach the podium in Budapest, alongside other top sprinters such as Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith.
